Your first step toward a new life is to determine if you are a candidate for bariatric surgery. Typically, patients who are 100 or more pounds over their ideal weight and who have a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or greater are good candidates for bariatric surgery. Use this BMI calculator to determine your body mass index. Then learn more about requirements for obesity surgery candidates at our Long Island bariatric surgery center.
