Dr. Collin Brathwaite, FACS, FASMBS

Dr. Collin Brathwaite is a board certified general surgeon. He is the Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island. He also leads NYU Langone Long Island Surgical Associates. His experience and knowledge in the field of bariatric and metabolic surgery has made him one of the most sought after surgeons in the New York and tri-state area.

Dr. Brathwaite has received numerous awards and honors in the field and regularly contributes to medical journals, books, and other publications. He is a seasoned lecturer and presenter at various national and international conferences and regularly trains other surgeons on advanced, minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Dr. Jun Levine

Dr. Levine attended medical school at SUNY Downstate Medical School and practiced in New York City before moving to NYU Winthrop. Her compassion and noted bedside manner puts her patients at ease, while her surgical skill helps ensure the most effective and safe procedure for each and every one. Beyond bariatric surgical procedures such as gastric bypass and gastric sleeve, Dr. Levine also specializes in minimally invasive hernia repair, minimally invasive gallbladder removal and surgical treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Dr. Venkata Kella

Dr. Kella is the newest member of the bariatric team at NYU NYU Langone Long Island Surgical Associates. Dr. Kella is a board-certified general surgeon with a specialization in minimally invasive/laparoscopic and robotic bariatric surgery. From a young age, Dr. Kella wanted to become a surgeon, inspired by his uncle and other family members who were doctors, but also because of the chance to use modern surgical technique to blend science and art to continually improve the lives of others. Dr. Kella passes on that knowledge to subsequent generations of surgeons as a clinical Assistant Professor at the NYU Department of Surgery.

Dr. Gloria B. Chu is a general surgeon in Patchogue, New York and is affiliated with NYU Langone Hospitals. She received her medical degree from New York Medical College and has been in practice between 11-20 years.
